The eleven day journey to peace and contentment begins from Delhi and enters Agra, the cradle of Mughal architectural famous worldwide for Taj Mahal. Later, the pilgrimage begins the trail of faith, reverence and devotion from Varanasi, the city as old as time. From there, the Buddhist Pilgrimage begins with a visit to Sarnath, where the Buddha turned the wheel of law preached the knowledge post enlightenment to his first five followers. From there, the tour enters the site where Buddha gained enlightenment in Bodhgaya. The journey furthers as pilgrims venture into Rajgir, Nalanda, Patna, the then Patliputra and Vaishali to know more about Lord Buddha and his life. The third major pilgrimage Kushinagar is the site of Lord Buddha's Parinirvana. Followed by this is Lumbini in Nepal, worshipped as the site of Lord Buddha's birth. On the return journey, a visit to Sravasti city ruins allows pilgrims to visit the Jetavana monastery where Lord Buddha spent his 24 rainy seasons.

Day 1. Delhi
On arrival at Delhi Airport, meet India Luxury Train representative who will assist the hotel transfers. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 2. Delhi
Daylong sightseeing tour of Delhi's old and new counterparts featuring Shahjahanabad's Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid and New Delhi (Lutyen's Delhi) India Gate, Drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan / Parliament House and later enjoy meal in the heart of Delhi, Connaught Place. Day 3. Delhi - Agra - Varanasi
Transfer in the morning to Railway Station and board connecting Train # 2002 Bhopal Shatabdi Express dep. 06:00 hr. arr. Agra at 07:55 hr. Later leave for sightseeing tour of Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Itamad-ud-Daulah, father of Nur Jahan, the then Empress of India. In the evening, transfer to Railway Station to board the connecting train # 4854 / 4864 Marudhar Express dep. 21:15 hr. Overnight on board. (Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays)
Day 4. Varanasi - Sarnath - Varanasi
Arrive Varanasi at 09:30 hr. On arrival, check-in at hotel and refresh for a visit to Sarnath - the place where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon in 590 BC to his first five followers. Afternoon explore the rich cultural and traditional roots of this spiritual city with a Varanasi city tour. Discover the heritage of this oldest continuing city with a visit to the world famous River Ganges Ghats, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Gyanvapi Mosque, Durga Temple, Banaras Hindu University, Ram Nagar, Fort and Museum. Overnight stay.
Day 5. Varanasi - Bodhgaya
Early morning, begin exploring the River Ganges on a boat ride. In afternoon, transfer to Railway Station to board the connecting Train # 3030 Doon Express dep. 16:25 hr. arr 21:42 hr. Overnight in hotel. Bodhgaya is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centers in the state of Bihar. It was here that Gautama attained enlightenment and became Buddha, the awakened under the "Bodhi" tree. A visit to Mahabodhi Temple complex allows pilgrims to reminisce the same overwhelming experience in the sanctified land. The third generation of this Mahabodhi Tree is also there as a part of temple complex. Overnight stay.
Day 6. Bodhgaya
Day 6 will be based on exploring Bodhgaya and its rich heritage associated with Lord Buddha in intricate detail. Sit under the Bodhi Tree and contemplate the serene side of Bodhgaya. Overnight stay.
Day 7. Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Nalanda - Patna
Leave Bodhgaya for Patna (229 kms / 6-7 Hr) en-route visiting Rajgir & Nalanda. Patna is 2500 year old capital city of Bihar. Rajgir was capital of 6th century Magadha Empire and was revered site of Buddha's discourses. Buddha spent many years here. Nalanda is world's oldest university founded in the 5th century. Overnight at hotel in Patna.
Day 8. Patna - Vaishali - Kushinagar
Morning leave Patna for Kushinagar (253 kms / 8 hr) en-route visiting Vaishali -located 60 kms from Patna and holds special significance for Buddhist devotees. Kushinagar is the place where Buddha passed into Maha-Parinirvana. Afternoon visit Kushinagar the various stupas and temples. Overnight stay.
Day 9. Kushinagar - Lumbini - Sravasti
Leave Kushinagar by road for Lumbini (170 kms / 4-5 Hr) - the birthplace of Buddha and is located just a few kilometres inside Nepal. Sightseeing tour of Lumbini and thereafter leave for Sravasti by road (225 kms / 6 hr). On arrival transfer to hotel and overnight stay.
Day 10. Saravasti - Sahet & Mahet - Lucknow - Delhi
Morning visit to Sahet & Mahet -15 kms from Balrampur and the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Kosala. Sravasti has the honour for sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Vihar and has the famous Anand Bodhi tree, age-old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. Buddha is said to have performed some miracles here. After sightseeing leave for Lucknow by road (175 kms) and connect Train # 2557 Sampark Kranti Express dep. 22:55 hr. Overnight on board.
Day 11. Delhi - Onward destination
Arrive New Delhi at 07:35 hr. Transfer to international airport for flight to onward destination (Hotel Checkout 12:00 Hr).
