Day 1. Arrive Lucknow
Arrive Lucknow by air from Delhi. Transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2. Lucknow - Sravasti
Morning visit Bara Imambara and proceed to Sravasti (145 km / 3 hr). Upon arrival, check into hotel. In the afternoon, visit Sahet Mahet, capital of ancient Kingdom of Kosala where Lord Buddha spent 24 monsoon seasons in the rainy retreat. Later visit Jetvana Vihar & Buddhist temples. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3. Sravasti - Lumbini
Morning leave Sravasti for Lumbini in Nepal (225 km / 6 hr). Arrive Lumbini, transfer to hotel. Lumbini is the place where Lord Buddha was born. In the afternoon, visit Mayadevi temple and stupa reinstating the reverence over the birth of Lord Buddha. Ashokan Pillar in Lumbini is an etched proof, citing the visit of Emperor Ashoka after embracing Buddhism and relieving the kingdom from the taxes. Overnight in Lumbini.
Day 4. Lumbini - Kushinagar
Morning leave Lumbini for Kushinagar (161 km / 5 hr). Arrive Kushinagar and transfer to hotel. Kushinagar is the place where Buddha entered perfect tranquility, the state ultimate Mahaparinirvana. In the afternoon, visit Mahaparinirvana temple & Ramabhar Stupa (cremation site of Lord Buddha). Overnight in Kushinagar.
Day 5. Kushinagar - Varanasi
After breakfast, leave Kushinagar for Varanasi (260 km / 6 hr). On arrival, transfer to the hotel. In afternoon, visit Sarnath, near Varanasi is the site where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon to the first five followers and turned the wheel of law. In the evening, visit Ganga River to see the "Aarti" function. Overnight in Varanasi.
Day 6. Varanasi - Bodhgaya
Early morning, cherish the experience of boat ride on River Ganges to see the bathing & cremation Ghats. Breakfast at hotel. Later leave for Varanasi City Tour visiting Bharat Mata temple, Tulsi Manas, Banaras Hindu University, etc. Late afternoon begin a drive to Bodhgaya (242 km / 5 hr). On arrival at Bodhgaya, transfer to hotel. Bodhgaya is the site where Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment under the sacred Bodhi Tree and became Buddha. Overnight in Bodhgaya.
Day 7. Bodhgaya
Full day tour of Bodhgaya visiting Mahabodhi Temple, Buddhist Monastery of Bhutan, Animesh lochan Chaiyata, Chankramana, Mohanta's Monastery, Ratnagar, Archaeological Museum, Tibetan Monastery, Thai Temple & Monastery, The Chinese Temple & Monastery, International Buddhist House & Japanese Temple, The Burmese Temple etc. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8. Bodhgaya - Patna - Delhi Or Kolkata
Morning leave Bodhgaya for Patna (182 km - 5 hr) enroute visiting Rajgir & Nalanda. Rajgir is a site of great significance and sanctity for Buddhist believers. In afternoon, visit Gridhakuta Hill and Bimbisara Jail. Proceed to nearby Nalanda (14 km), it was one of the oldest Universities of the World & International Centre for Buddhist Studies. Drive further to Patna airport (90 km/ 2 hr drive) to connect flight for Delhi Or Kolkata.
