Bangalore – Cochin – Alleppey – Houseboat – Kumarakom – Periyar – Cochin
Day 1. Bangalore – Cochin
After checking out from the Pride of South Train, transfer to the Bangalore Airport to board the flight for Cochin. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure. In the evening, watch Kathakali dance performance. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2. Cochin
After breakfast, begin the sightseeing tour of Cochin. The artificial port harbour is created by the famed underwater mud-bank harbour separating the rougher seas with the calmer harbour waters. The sightseeing of Cochin includes a visit to Jewish Synagogue, Portuguese Churches, Mosques & Hindu temples, Mattancherry Palace etc. Watch the Chinese Fishing Nets alongside Fort Cochin. Overnight stay.
Day 3. Cochin – Alleppey – Houseboat
After breakfast, drive to Alleppey (70 km /2 hr). Upon arrival, board the houseboat from Alleppey staying in this moving palace is breathtakingly stimulating experience. While sailing through the enchanting maze of canals, you are transported to a different zone of calm and relaxation while observing different scenes from the villages, paddy fields, coconut palms, fisherman and local life. Lunch, tea snacks, dinner and breakfast will be provided in the boat. The cool breeze from the Lake make you sleep early in the night after anchoring in a fancy place. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4. Houseboat – Kumarakom
Arrive Kumarakom and disembark from the houseboat. Later visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. This sanctuary is rich with a number of noteworthy species include the Dater or Snake Bird, Little Cormorant, Night Heroin, Golden- backed woodpecker, Crow Pheasant, White Breasted Water Hen and Tree Pie etc. overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 5. Kumarakom – Periyar
After breakfast, drive to Periyar (approx 135 km / 4 hr drive). Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Later visit tea and spice plantations or do a soft trek with escort in the jungle. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 6. Periyar – Cochin – Out
After breakfast, take a Boat safari in Lake Periyar inside the Periyar National Park. Later drive to Cochin which is around 185 km / 5 hr drive. On arrival, transfer to the airport to board the flight for onward destination.
